i think that your salary was likely in the general range to at least continue talking.

they usually level you after the in-person interview and depending on your level, the pay range will vary. if you end up getting leveled lower, you might be too high but either way, it's up to you to decide if you want to take the risk anyway.

Default Can you apply again at amazon

Hi

Amazon flew me out after 4 phone interviews in October 2012 and I did not get an offer. The job paid below my salary and was lower level but I was still considering it.

Does anyone know if they will interview the same person twice? There are some other positions that interest me and I'd like to try again but don't know if I'd be considered again.

Thanks

Typically not for the same job family (e.g., SDE) unless it's an administrative error. You might get another shot if you interview for another job family, for instance you interviewed for SDE you can try applying for Product Manager or something.

Also keep in mind that Amazon shares the results of your interviews internally with other teams. That could help or hurt you, depending on why they passed on you.

it depends. if you were pretty close meaning that you did well in some areas and just didn't meet the hiring bar in other areas, they will want to go through another loop 6+ months in the future. if you were way off the mark, they might not be willing to put in the time to try again.

there are many cases where a candidate barely misses the mark and then interviews later after he/she builds up some more skills and then gets an offer the next time around.

I had my in-person interview recently. How long does it typically take for the response back?

Usually within a few days but sometimes it could take a week (or even longer) if there are some complications (people out of town, interviewer gets sick, etc.). Amazon is pretty quick and wants to make the interview process a positive experience for candidates and one way to do that is to get back to you sooner than later.

Greetings! Are there any internships available within Amazon? I'm searching for internships for my son who is not yet 18 and in his senior year of high school.

Not that I am aware of. There are college internship for currently enrolled college students but I have not see any for High School (or recent High School grads).
