Me and my fiance are planning a possible move to Seattle... How much would a decent studio or 1br apt cost and how good are the community colleges? Also what areas are bad neighborhoods what are good? We are used to the coldest rainiest, foggiest, neighborhood in SF and we are used to the city life. Overall what would be a big thing from SF to Seattle and is it relatively the same.

Thanks

Hi there. I would say about 1200-1550 a month. It all depends where in Seattle you want to be? Downtown? You could get cheaper but not downtown. The CC colleges are good. Where will you be working? This will help to pinpoint the best CC in the area, and area to live.

I've spent alot of time in the Bay Area and I think they are very similar in alot of ways. The big difference is crime. it will seem so safe in Seattle compared to the Sf area.

Of all the people I know living in one bdrm apts. only 1 pays $1300 a month and he has a relatively new 900+ sq ft. apt. above Safeway on Madison St. You will find quite a few apts. from about $750-$1100 on Capitol Hill, First Hill, Queen Anne, Central District and Madison Valley. All centrally located very close to dt Seattle. I pay $900 for a 1 bdrm 1907 old world charm apt. with a huge kitchen, hardwood floors, crown molding and bay windows. I love my place.

thanks... yeah 1300 is a lot... thats about the price here... we are looking for a relatively safe area still not tooo far from the hustle and bustle... we arent sure where we will be working but we will figure all that out before... nothing too crazy im trying for UPS and my fiance is a receptionist/front desk worker so she could find work anywhere.... 750 range seems good... what are some areas to stay away from and what are some real nice areas to be in with affordability preferably somewhere on a hill or with a view of the water
