Can anyone tell me which schools host the Spectrum and APP programs? I'm looking specifically at the SE attendance areas. So far all I have is that Hawthorne has Spectrum and Thurgood Marshall has APP. There doesn't seem to be any one place that all of this information is listed.

thanks! G

Thank you so much. It was pointed out to me on my other thread that a nice poster had already provided me the link... and then I asked for it again. I have moving brain, I guess.

OK, now I have another question. I understand what Spectrum and APP are, having attending a meeting to learn more. But can someone explain to me what ALO is and how it differs from these first two? Thanks G

A word of caution about ALO. Because its so loosely defined at the district level, its implementation varies widely school to school, classroom to classroom. There are many cases where its differentiation in name only. If you want to go down that route, you pretty much need to visit the school and investigate a little bit more to see what is actually happening on the ground.

Thanks Benleis. It does seem really loosely defined, which is why I was asking in the first place. It seems impossible to get a straight answer on exactly what it means, including from the SPS links. Argh. G

Be sure to check out Seattle Schools Community Forum and Community Forum for APP in Seattle Schools . Plans for the APP sites seem to be changing year to year (or month to month), and support for programs like Spectrum and APP within the district itself is lacking.
