I am moving to Seattle at the end of this year. I am looking to get into the new cannabis industry. I don't have any money, I graduate college in December. I want to link up with some other entrepreneurs and create a company.

I am going to find employment with my degree and immediately start to grow, and invest in new companies.

Any on with similar ideas please respond and we can talk.

Thanks

You are too late, unless you find someone who already obtained a permit through the lottery that wants help. Most likely they would be looking for partners with cash to put into the business.

I am willing to do that.

When you say permit, do you mean permit to grow? Or does the permit lottery apply to all facets of the business?

A neo-Jack London of the 21st Century's new American frontier, perhaps?

May wish to sketch up a business plan and brainstorm on capitalizing it. May also need a lawyer to figure out the byzantine laws. I assume the big national banks are keeping away from that like kryptonite, due to the legal uncertainty. Hope it works out.

Whatever you decide, don't hold your breath. We voted to legalize weed over two and a half years ago, and we're just now getting close to finally making it available legally. Perhaps the state legislature was collectively too stoned to uh actually set up a workable uh system. Uh.

So you want to capitalize on the new industry, but you haven't looked up the laws associated with it and thus, know little about the business side of the business? Good luck with your new business.
If you're serious about it, go read up on all the laws regarding it, including the permit lottery.

I am not coming there to open a pot store I am coming there to build the cannabis and hemp industries.

The lottery is only for retail licenses.

Wrong, it was for retailer, producer, and processor.

Exactly.

Regardless of where you are in the chain, the state wants its cut of the tax revenue.

They are hiring in the Department of Revenue as well as the Liquor Control Board for this exact reason.
