So much for walking off those extra calories!
I guess for this trip I will have to be content to geocache for exercise.
If you're walking around downtown you'll get a ton of exercise. One thing many people don't know about Seattle (at least I didn't know) is that it's one of the hilliest cities in America.

I am from the Pittsburgh area... we got hills. I was surprised how much Seattle's topography resembles western PA.
For part of our trip, we will be staying downtown without a rental car. I plan on walking plenty during that portion!

Thanks for all your advice! We had a great trip... first in Redmond, then in downtown Seattle.

We hiked Wallace Falls and ate at the Cascadia Cafe.
We did the suggested loop with a few adjustments - ferry at Mukilteo, Fort Casey, ate at Ciao in Coupeville (good foof and free cocktails...), spent time at Deception Pass, grabbed some Snow Goose ice cream, and walked the Tulip Festival (as they were out early).
We visited Chihuly and Google, along with SAM and the Underground Tour.
The Sky View Observatory was fabulous... we were up there when the salmon truck overturned.
Better restaurants ended up being The Barking Frog, the Rainier Club dining room, and Tulio's.

It rained every day, but that was okay!

Have a great trip Pitt Chick, answers below

1) Will Mt Rainer be accessible in March? Maybe, even driving close to it is worth it.
2) What is acceptable attire for the symphony? I've seen all kinds of clothing, Seattle is pretty accepting in that way.
3) Restaurant recommendations please? What kind of food do you like? Farm to table, ethnic? We have an amazing array of choices.

Tulio was our daughter's choice for her birthday dinner. I was lobbying for a steak place, but hey... not my special day!

Walrus and the Carpenter and Westward are two of my favorite Seattle restaurants.
