My husband and I would like to move to Issaquah in a few years. Just wondering what are the average costs for water, electric, cable, internet. Also looking for recommendations on housing. Thank you

Pretty cheap, 1 bedrooms are going for around $1500-1800/mo or so and water/sewer bills are around $100-150 /mo. The electric bills are PSe, which are also much higher than most other parts of the country per kwh. Just pray you have gas heating.

Cheap if you are from Tokyo, San Francisco or Manhattan..

When I lived in Issaquah, one nice thing I remember was the trash service which was considerably cheaper if you could recycle most of your stuff. They do not charge for oversize recycle or compost bins. So the smaller your weekly trash is, the lower your bill (just get the smallest bin possible and recycle everything else--it's actually quite do-able). I don't remember how much it was, but it was about $40/month less than what I paid anywhere else.

The water/sewage bill came every two months, and was about $160 for three of us (so about $80/month). The savings from trash helped level this out.

Internet and Cable are pretty typical compared to other places.

Mortgage/rent (as Rotse mentioned) is a completely differently story.

You are kidding right? Our electricity is among the cheapest in the world. Here is 2011 data, but the relative differences are still valid.

Yes, our electricity is cheap, gas is reasonable. What they get us on is the sewer, surface water management and property taxes. Coming from Arizona (like our next door neighbor) you will find the summer bills far lower, the winter bills far higher. For our house summer electric/gas combined is about $100, winter can go over $300/month during a cold spell. Our neighbors are scared to death of trees falling in our 1-3 windstorms every year, I guess they didn't have the 100' fir or cedar trees near the house in Phoenix.
