I was in Palm Springs last month and it was 90 degrees down there. When it was 89 degrees in Seattle this past Monday, I felt like I was back in Palm Springs. It was weird but I was enjoying it. I took a nice ferry ride to Bainbridge Island to enjoy the very rare 89 degree April weather.

To me, 90 degrees in western WA is not like 90 degrees in the desert. It feels humid, even though it is dry *for this region.*

Not for this region, but for most of the US. On the east coast, it's much more humid than here. Just the desert is less humid.

I live in Miami (wanting to move to the nw) and the humidity is as destructive to your body as the heat

I'm surprised seattle is having this heat now o.o

Count me in the group of fans of cloudy/rainy weather. Today was a great day and what spring should be like. Cool and a little windy and cloudy. If I wanted sunny days in the 80s in April, I'd move back to Hawai'i I don't even want sunny days in the 80s and up in the summer.

I agree. The mid-high 60s, some rain, some clouds and an occasional peek of the sun is perfect spring weather for me.

I grew up and lived a long time in the east, and western WA's sunny days do feel drier than their summer days but still humid to me. A huge part of the west is not desert but is drier than western WA; it is not just the desert that feels drier. Even in the dry areas, there are different degrees of dryness. You know the relative humidity is less than 10% when it practically hurts to breathe. I could also feel it in my skin.
