If you love Adams Morgan, you'll love the authentic Ethiopian food here. I know DC is number 1, we are the third largest Ethiopian/Eritrean community in the US here, something like 70,000 people. We have probably 30 Ethiopian restaurants. The epicenter is MLK Jr Way and Cherry in the Central District. I backpacked Ethiopia for a month, I can tell you the food is good here!

Green Lake's awesome though pricey. The junction or Admiral districts in W Seattle are probably almost as nice, too, and bus service is great.n

Georgetown is becoming an interesting neighborhood, don't know of many apartments but there is some new buildings going up. Just south of SODO so quick and easy commute via car or public.

Georgetown is a residential and commercial village (or two physically separate ones) amidst a lot of industry, a freeway, and an airport. It's a cool place but you need to be ok living in that environment.

So are there no buses that run direct from green lake to sodo?

Depends on exactly where to where. Seattle's bus system is very much a "hub and spokes" system where everything comes together in downtown Seattle. There are plenty of options from Green Lake to downtown, and from downtown to Sodo, but only one line (that I'm aware of) that goes from the main commercial part of Green Lake (around where Ravenna Blvd. "Ts" into Green Lake Way) to, say, First Avenue S. near the stadiums. And that line changes its route number in downtown Seattle (from the 26 to the 131) although you can stay on the same bus.

But it's all got to do with where to where, or the "last mile" as they say. If your job is at, say, Starbucks HQ, then that might bring about some different options than if it's at Safeco Field. Or if you're somewhere else around Green Lake, then one of the express services along Aurora (SR 99) might work better. But changing buses isn't that complicated, and once you've got a system that works, you're set.

Use the Metro trip planner - King County Metro Transit Trip Planning - to play around with transit options.

Also here's the info on the GL Park and Ride - Park & Ride Information - King County Metro Transit (use North Seattle.)

This. OP, you're trying to connect to opposite parts of town, from the standpoint of the system: north Seattle and south Seattle. Your one hope would be to be able to use a bus line that changes its number/route when it reaches downtown, to continue south, as Gardyloo has explained. Otherwise, your trip would involve a transit transfer. That connector to the UW light rail station could be a good option.

#26 to 3rd & Main, becomes #131/132 running south on 4th Ave S through SoDo, so a one-seat ride.

Route 26 - King County

Route 131 - King County
