I have friends that will need to be within 15 minutes of Children's Hospital for 6-8 weeks at a time beginning today. It is a family of three and they are hoping to not be in a hotel room for that length of time. Does anyone have any suggestions. They are on the waiting list for the Ronald McDonald house already. Thanks in advance!

While it won't be cheap, look at VRBO. There are many houses big enough to handle them in comfort available. Some are about the same as a decent motel, in the $100-150/night range, though there won't be many near the hospital, they can be within a 15 minute drive or bus.

They could look at extended stay, executive suite, or other furnished temporary lodging, which, while not cheap, is a good less expensive than paying nightly rates for a hotel room, plus they'll have a kitchen.
