That billboard was in 1971. Yes, the most complaints were in the 1980s, when a lot of people we knew in the Bay Area were moving here. We came in 1993 and by then so many were already here that the complaining had stopped. Besides, the influx from other states and countries had started. As long as we are giving anecdotal evidence, I had one family member move up here a year ago from southern CA, two others just last month from the Bay Area. That doesn't make for a mass exodus, however. In fact I know several people from the Bay Area moving to Oregon.
