I read an article in today's seattle Times that southwest airlines changed their mind about Paine field.

Rather than expanding at Paine field it would be nice for southwest airlines to expand service from sea tac. I hope southwest airlines doesn't pull out of sea tac.

I wonder why southwest airlines changed their mind about serving Everetts Paine field??

I imagine LUV doesn't want to compete with ALK.
My issue, how does one get to Paine Field from Seattle other than driving your car?
I can do SeaTac inexpensively and fairly fast using SoundTransit bus then LINK from Redmond. Approx 1-3/4 hours, $1 senior Orca fare.

I haven't read the article yet, but I'm kind of disappointed. We were looking forward to being able to get a SW flight without going through Seattle.
Alaska is good, too, but DH like's Southwest's flexibility.

SW, though a large non-stop airline, still depends on connections, and there are absolutely none out of Paine at this point. This would seemingly be their reasoning. However, I wouldn't count them out at Paine in the future.

On an airline-fan website (crankyflier.com), someone wrote in a comment that Southwest staying
away from Paine field was a quid pro quo for Alaska Air dropping its routes from Dallas to the east coast.
