I know a few people who have done security work, including at Google on the Eastside. It's super boring but they made like $17-20. Obviously there's a ceiling in that line of work, you'd want to be learning a skill or going to school on the side.
Every landscaping business I called is booked out months, and having a difficult time finding help. They probably pay pretty good, once you've established that you are hardworking, reliable, and can do the job, because they certainly charge the customers a lot.
If you find you like the work, you definitely want to get some community college training.
