Get ready for what is probably going to be the hottest weekend of the year thus far.

Washington will see the hottest temperatures so far this year this weekend (King5)

Quote:
An upper area of high pressure, or a ridge, will build over the Pacific and Inland Northwest this weekend. This is important because upper areas of high-pressure lead to sinking air, which can lead to warm or even hot temperatures this time of the year.

Enhancing the warm temperatures is expected offshore winds that will develop, allowing temperatures to soar to well-above-average as winds coming down the western slopes of the Cascades dry and warm across Puget Sound and all of western Washington.
It's likely to be 80 F and above through Monday. Fortunately the days are long now and I can get my walk in at 5-6am when it's still mild.

We are going to Lake Washington. So excited, it's going to be a VERY FUN Pride weekend in the city... People are already out and about here in lower Cap Hill.

Here in Sammamish the forecast is 88 Sunday, 91 Monday. I'll have to do my outside activities in the morning or evening. Still, I cannot complain, it's still a lot better than the 114 we got at this time last year.

And yes, we can go from complaining about the rain to complaining about the heat in less than 24 hours!

It's what we do.

Last years heat wave took a toll on our plants and trees.
It was the first time we really had to water the lawns.
I have been having stick fires every few weeks or so to clean up and still am not caught up.
This next week will be very busy because burn season will be over.

We even lost 4 large trees at our ca place.
One was a 5’ diameter and a very tall oak.
Tree work is either very hard or very expensive.

We will hit 80 Sunday and Monday.
To me that’s 5-10 degrees hotter than perfect.
110 degrees might as well be deep into the sub zeros as far as I’m concerned because I’m not going out in it.

Me, too! Perfect weather. 50s at night, 70s to maybe 80 during the day (but it takes half the day to heat up to that). It's not that hot and it cools down at night so not a thing to complain about. The sun is absolutely glorious. All the mountains are out.

I got the ebike out on Sunday & Monday before it got too hot.
On Tuesday, rode in the hottest part of the day. It was pretty cool to where I had put on a jacket.
Today, Wednesday, it's probably about as warm as it is going to get at, 65. Sporatic breezes. Going to wear long pants and jacket.
