Well there is some non expensive liquor out here, people just cant be too picky. I know theres some good tasting vodka for like 10.00 a fifth. And rum too. And theres some other good prices too. But unless your lookin for the "popular" stuff, of course its going to be expensive!

I had a few shocks when I moved to Seattle from Georgia.

Gas. Liquor. Cigarettes. Food prices in grocery stores. Fast food prices. Housing. Anything that costs money, actually.

Same here (GA to SEA)!

I remember being surprised by $1.25 gas (had been $1/gal in GA), and the cost of food the most.

Thinking about today's prices in perspective gives me gas.

No state tax, low property taxes. Money has to come from somewhere!

You can't buy hard liqour in grocery stores in Georgia...or Florida, I think.

I find Sunday sales to be irritating, but I can understand. They don't like me. That's pretty much the reason. Otherwise they would sell on Sunday. Or maybe they are trying to centralize profits? I can tell you this...I've never been the only customer in the store on a Sunday....

I heard that the liquor control board was considering lifting the ban on hard alcohol sales on Sundays. This was a couple of years ago, and it was only going to be a few locations, but it's a start. About time, this is the 21st century, and we aren't in the bible belt.
