If you have to haul water by the bucketful from a well or stream you will naturally not be taking daily hot showers or long soaks in a bathtub. You will be living (and washing) like most folks in the 1800's did. You will need a wash stand that holds a pitcher and large basin on top and a covered slop bucket below. You place a towel on the floor in front of the wash stand, set the basin on the towel, fill the pitcher with cold water plus a little boiling water from a big kettle (heated on a wood stove or on your outdoor grill), strip off your clothes, stand in the basin and use a wash cloth and a dipper to wet your body, lather soap, scrub your skin and rinse. You start at the top and work your way down. Used, soapy water goes into the slop bucket. Finish by toweling off. You do this complete wash once a week. On other days you just use a wash cloth, soap and a little water in the morning or evening to wash your face, armpits, groin and feet. For cleaning your teeth, a toothbrush dipped in water and used vigorously after each meal plus daily use of dental floss is sufficient. Tooth paste is a modern luxury and its use isn't much better than using a wet toothbrush without tooth paste. Don't skip on the dental floss though.
