None of them are legitimate and I mean none. The days of Cronkite, Jennings and Koppel are gone. We're stuck with a bunch of political hacks feeding the public infotainment. I can remember when the Democrats passed the energy bill back in 2009, front page of my newspaper the next day was 4 pages on the death of Michael Jackson. Story on the bill was buried back by the obituaries, that bill would of had just as much impact as the healthcare legislation if not more.
That said I don't see the issue with clearing stories with the CIA, however based on the article it appears this reporter was just a little too cozy.
This is why I gather my news from multiple sources, including offshore agencies. Their different takes on any particular subject help me weed out the spin, propaganda and male bovine excreta.
