When we could afford to go and spend $500 2 time a year we would buy
All paper products
chicken breasts
chop meat
batteries
cleaning supplies
Garbage bags
zip loc bags
shampoo
soap
dish soap
Advil
razors
grated cheese
hot dogs
burgers
tooth paste
Now if we need something and my MIL is going she will get it for us.
Laundry detergent
Kitty litter
Organic olive oil
Quinoa
Frozen organic green beans
Organic chicken breasts
Books
Printer ink
Socks
Sweaters
Conditioner
Ibuprofen
Toothpaste
Deoderant
Garbage bags
Body wash
Dog food
Dog chews
Almond milk
Chicken stock
Spices
Outdoor gear
Manchego cheese
Toilet paper
Paper towels
Fish oil caplets (for my elderly dog)
Cosequin (also for the elderly dog)
Anything else that doesn't spoil and seems like a good bargain. I like that I don't have to worry about buying a lot of those things on trips to the grocery store. When you run out of deoderant or kitty litter unexpectedly, it's a real pain in the butt!

I'm not going to bore people with a long list, but we go monthly and spend $300-400. Most of our food and many supplies come from there. We have a large upright freezer and a walk-in pantry so plenty of room for large quantities.
The supermarket is only used for an occasional last minute item.
Dog food & dog bed
Blankets
Yogurt
Spinach
Sandwich thins
Fruit (depending on price - it varies so much!)
Eggs (^ ditto price. Goes ALL over the place.)
Frozen meat/fish
Coconut Oil
Spices
Dishwasher tabs
Wine
Vitamins
The rest can be bought at regular supermarkets for less. Costco really doesn't have competitive prices if you pay attention to $/oz.
