As a former football coach I will admit to being biased. In reality they are two very different sports. That being said, with proper training, a lot of football players would be capable of playing soccer at a high level. Not many soccer players would be capable of playing football at a high level-other than being a kicker!

Maybee it's age, but to me, watching Soccer is quite boring, but as a child, soccer was not a sport we played. We had no pro teams or leagues, it wasn't even on TV...
Now all the kids play it, and seems quite popular....
I bet had it been around 40 years ago, I would like it today..
I love football....I love Nascar.....Hell I like watching baseball, and that's slow as hell........
So I'd bet that soccer is getting more and more popular here in the U.S.A.
But for now, Like another poster said when America got knocked out of the World Cup.....Who CAres...

I watch both American football and soccer, like them both.

They are quite different from one another, so it's apples to oranges trying to compare.

Well, that pretty much clinches it. Better call the NCAA and the NFL and tell them ramone has exposed em. And tell Hollywood to knock off all those football movies.

And remember that "sure" is spelled "so".

Soccer is for kids, football is for adults.
There are way more adult rec soccer leagues in this country than adult American football leagues. If anything, American football is a kiddie sport because the vast, and I do mean vast majority of kids stop playing football when they become adults.

You'd be surprised at how many football players were originally soccer players. For example, Dwight Freeney.

American football is for men. Broken arm? Rub a litte dirt on it, and pay the next game with a cast.

Soccer is for girly boys. Ooh ooh ooh. Somebody pushed little me. Watch me roll on the ground and contort my face in agony. Now I scream at you and wag my finger. Oh, dear. Someone is showing me a yellow postcard.

Little boy blue, come blow my vuvuzela...
This says more about you, than it does the sport.....either sport really.

Such tender feelings. So easily bruised.

Here, enjoy some "futball" highlights....

Hall of Shame: divers in football
