Nope we had a kroger years ago before the company started becoming as big as it is today
Im suprised we didnt get a Lidi when Lexington Florence Greenwood and Orangeburg got theirs

That is puzzling? Even similar sized Greenwood has Hobby Lobby, Ross, Ulta, TJMaxx, Kohls ,Old Navy and Publix. Who anchors the mall in Sumter now because it and the similar Greenwood Mall (original name CrossCreek) were built around the same time by the same company? Greenwood Mall has Belk, JCP, TJMaxx and Michaels. A Sykes call center just moved out.

A lot of big box stores look at regional shopping draw. Sure Sumter is big enough, but how many folks from Sumter shop in Columbia?

Do chain retailers have the customers commuting from Sumter to Columbia to do business necessary to consider opening stores in Sumter?
