ClemVegas, you lost me.

Considering winning a national title means Clemson has to play better, win a regional, win a super regional, and win its way in Omaha, Nebraska to a national championship. It does not mean Clemson seeks quick exit in regional play.

Jack Leggett is an example of what not to do. His program became stale and did not win enough. Leggett wanted to stay the course of stalling out, and he was dismissed.

Ok, so you think the baseball coach 'seeks' a quick exit in regional play. He doesn't want to win the regional and a national title?

Are you saying that he asked the pitchers to throw the pitches that Vandy hit for homeruns?

I would say the Vandy players just played well and give them credit for a good game. I believe Vandy won a title a few years ago and was runner up the following year.

Clemson's exit really wasn't that quick in that they were one of the last two teams in their region all 3 years, if I am not mistaken.

A coach is responsible for coaching his team to victory. If the team does not win because the coach did not do his job effectively, the coach earns necessary scrutiny.

Let me be a coach for a moment. If I have pitchers serving up hits and runs and batters not hitting balls with bats for base hits and runs batted in, I have to make in-game decisions by switching players out to win.

He did switch out pitchers. I don't think the starter even lasted 3 innings.

In my view, the worst part of sports is there is so much negativity among many fans.

You were most likely criticizing Dabo a few years ago when they had lost 5 in a row to SC.

I think Jake Higginbotham pitched into the seventh inning of Game 4.

I think Vanderbilt scored majority of runs in the later innings. I think about midway thru the game it was 6-3 or 6-4. I don't think Clemson had enough depth at pitcher this year.

CLemson had 7 pitchers play in that game. The starter was Strider and then Owens on came in the 2nd. The 3rd Clemson pitcher only threw like 4 pitches. It seems like the coach was yanking players quickly. I think that undermines your premise.

Vanderbilt scored late-inning runs in Game 6.

I thought you were talking about the last game, because you were talking about hits. Vandy only scored 4 runs in the first game.

It looks like one of the Vandy hitters had 3 homeruns in the 2nd game, and he had only had 3 runs total in 3 seasons prior to this game.

He had 10 RBIs in the game. That one player actually had 1 more RBI than the rest of the team combined and it is not like the rest of the team had an off night given they scored 19 total.

That's what makes sports fun....it is not always predictable.
