A friend of mine is going to be renting a mobile home just south of New Ellenton. The landlord told her to get a hold of "New Ellenton Waterworks" to have the water turned on in her name. Problem is we can't find a listing for that.

Anyone got any ideas?

Thank you so much.

Isn't that the public utilities building right on the main drag - pretty much right across the street from City Hall? Try there, or city hall or the electric company should be able to tell her where to go.

The number is 1-803-652-2214 ... You might also want to give them this number too 1-803652-7770 thats the cops shop they will probably need it... New Ellenton it's not called Dodge City for nothing..

As I was driving through in the dark this morning on my way to the bomb plant, I realized the place I'm thinking of is right across from the RV dealer. Has a big sign on the front says "CPW New Ellenton" - think that means commission of public works.

As far as NE being dangerous - I dunno. I hardly ever hear on the local news of something there as opposed to often hearing about Aiken or Edgefield. It is clearly depressed, and poor, tho.

My friend is low on funds and was looking for someplace in her price range. I, myself, live across from Talatha Gardens. I'm sending you a PM.

Thank you, Kat.

Talatha church rd isn't bad, but Trinkit your friend would be better off outside of N.E I have a friend who has some rentals off of Wire Rd. She does not rent to riff raff no dopers very quiet i lived there for 3 years and never saw a single problem.. Pm and i'll give you her number if you want...

Wire road is pretty remote. Perhaps there is a reason that trinkit's friend needs to be in the NE area. I lived off 278 south of NE when I first moved here, even shopped at the grocery and did laundry at the laundromat in NE. Drove around the back roads. Never had a problem. I believe NE is much safer than, say, the crosland park area. That said, no place is really safe these days, and I am sure the friend is taking suitable precautions.

Lol you drove though Dodge City and had no problems well it is kind of hard to be a crime victim at 55 mph.. As far as Wire Rd i guess 10 mins to town is "remote" to some but it us closer than the crime infested hellhole that is N.E Aiken Standard - Main Index

No, the speed limit through NE is 35 - gee, have you even driven through NE? Are you reading what I write or just posting remarks? I said I lived in the area. I even stopped and got out of my car several times. duh.

The end of Wire road that is close to town, hmmmm... seems like that end of Aiken is similar to NE in terms of ratty and rundown. I'm thinking that anything decent would be much further out. And, much further from the south end of town.
