It MUST be spent on schools, colleges, public safety or other government programs.

I guess they could all become teachers...

Those institutions will, in turn, spend money. That feeds economies.

Someone needs to create jobs in SC. What's your idea?

So stop. No one's forcing you. Now what's your idea?

Cut taxes,cut spending.
Private business employs people, not the government.

You are the one looking to government to do something to solve unemployment.

I'm looking for someone to solve unemployment. Private industry is proving weak in that regard. If the gov't has to be a shot in the arm, that money invested can help existing businesses to get stronger and new businesses to get established and grow.

If you spend money in a community, that money enters said community and gets spread around.

And how will the money be spent in the communities when it must be spent almost totally on schools and colleges?

It is a sop to the teachers union is all.

And those schools and colleges are going to bury the money in jars in the backyard? Hire a teacher. The teacher needs a plumber and a house painter and groceries. Jobs.

Build a new school. The school needs architects and builders and landscapers. Jobs.

When you spend money, you're spending it on something. What I'd love to see is more South Carolinians supporting local business instead of Walmart and Chilis, but that's a whole other story.
