I've never said that. Some of our heaviest snows come in April.

Or May, for that matter. We seem to get a blizzard the first week of May about every other year. It's that wet, heavy "Sierra Cement" at that time of the year too. It's a pain to shovel but it melts fast.

I hope we get some good moisture out of this storm, but I'm worried for DH. He's just learning to drive in this stuff and he has to commute to Sturgis.

The unfortunate part is, you can't learn to drive in it, unless it's there.

I'm hoping for as much as it will dump on us. Everything is so dry around us, you can hear the trees crackle when the wind blows!

The storm is coming over top of the Rockies and hits me before it hits you, so I am trying to give you some heads up.

It's been snowing all morning and we've actually had some "Low Vis" DOT reports, but all of them are cleared now. We have just a skiff on the ground. You can see more ground then you can snow.

Usually the storms scream across the prairies of Wyoming and then when they hit the speed bump (Black Hills hahaha) they dump some more, so hopefully, you will get a bunch.

It is reminding my of the April 97 storm. In 97 I was in Chadron Nebraska for the day. We got back to Rapid about 5 on that Friday afternoon. It was snow on my drive back home. It was a good 14 inches of snow and lots of wind. Calving went to hell that weekend and it took a good week to straighten out.

It kind of has that same feeling today. It was foggy for a spell this morning.

Weather.com says 100% chance of 5 to 8 inches tonight and 100% chance of 5to 8 inches again tomorrow. The wind has picked up and the temp has dropped in Hot Springs. It feels like a good one coming, but we'll see.

uh
