I baked two from-scratch punkin pies in my oven and forgot to put a tray under them. I wound up with a big glob of baked on pie spillage and some verrrrry smokey tasting pies. Actually, not too bad. Wasn't gonna toss them - it took too dang long to cook up the pumpkins and strain them, etc etc. Then I had to figure out how to clean out the mess. I hate using the "clean oven" setting - it uses up so much electricity!! So after it cooled, I sprayed the inside with water and then sprinkled baking soda all over the spills.
It was amazing how it all just lifted right up off the bottom of the stove when it dried. Way cool method for cleaning up burned stuff.

Anyway - Tonight is free range whole chicken stuffed with fresh sprigs of rosemary and cut up lemons right off my tree. I sprinkled smoked salt on it, drizzled a little olive oil on the top, then dusted it with some dried onion. Serving it with sauteed kale and wasabi mashed potatoes. Hope those flavors all work together!! Now that I'm dating a chef, I feel I have to step up my game!!
We're in north Africa in Tunisia. An all inclusive hotel called the 'Imperial marhaba.' The food is delicious...... I had a very nice steak for lunch, with a side salad, washed down with a good local white wine.......
Snap beans cooked in oil with bacon and onion, a baked potatoes with butter sour cream and chives, and a big ole Mountain Lion steak. To my way of thinking, you'll never have meat better than mountain lion.
Popped up a big pan of white popcorn in a cast iron pan. 3/4 stick of sweet butter melted in a small cast iron pan and then poured it over the popcorn. Liberal amounts of sea salt and boy is it good. That a d a ice cold Bud Light, life doesn't get any better.
