Yup *waving hand* - I remember that one! We were hiding in a friend's basement on the base - some friends from church had some damage from that one!

I've lived here 53 years and fortunately, I've never seen one either. Not yet anyway.

Brown Co. in northeastern So. Dak. appears to have the most with 76. It's a pretty decent sized county though. Custer Co. appears to be the lowest with 9. Not too bad for nearly 60 years.
Interesting article Jammie... Brown County does cover a rather large area. I lived there for 18 of my 22 years , and remember only a few times where we had a tornado near us. They were all minor ones (F1, F2 maybe).
I still remember the Manchester tornado. I remember driving by there a while after it happened. I stopped, got out, and walked around a bit. It was private property, technically, but I took my chance... It was mind blowing.
I remember seeing the foundations...the roads in town had weeds growing up in them already... I walked by one former house, and remember seeing a beat-up shoe and a stuffed animal. I just had an eerie feeling.

1960 near Rockerville about noon time. Tornado. Also heard of Tornado in 70s north of Rochford.

Have aired several warnings, sent resources in after tornadoes. Seen a couple of cold air funnels. Also responded after storm for search rescue, recovery and treatment in 99 down on Pine Ridge reservation.
