I have an nine year old with autism/adhd. We live in NW Arkansas and do get services for o/t, sp, and pt. The school's that provide autism classes-public are not good by far! My son is on a waiting list at a private school called NWA Center for Autism and Development Disabilities. Moderator Cut They do charge and have a good reputation. Their moving to a bigger building. They need 4 more kids then they can develop a class with my son in it or if somebody moves, but nobody will move. I'm hoping they get the class together. My son doesn't act severe or not advanced enough he is medium and needs one on one. Then he will be worked into a classroom there. The school works on the diagnose the manifesting level of communication, frequency tenancy, frequent behavior, communication living, academic living skills, ABA learning. I can't think of anything else they do right now.

Reason: You may insert a web link to the school but not its phone number.
I live in Central FL as well, I think we run into problems with the school because I work so hard with my son outside of school. I had a hard time finding OT's; they all had waiting lists or could only see him during school hours. For speech, there are lots of options. I'm looking to move soon just because I'm not happy with the schools in FL
Orlando FL has excellent services and support through UCF-CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disorders) and ASGO (Autism Society of Greater Orlando), but budget cuts are hurting Central Florida area (property tax cuts, state legislative budget cuts, economy in general, etc.)
Any opinions on school districts in Tampa Bay area? We are moving within the next 1-2 years. Would like to mainstream our high functioning son (now 4 years old).
We currently live in south central PA (just 15 miles from the Maryland boarder). No matter where you go, no one will be completely satisfied with their services. We all want more for our children. PA however does pay for almost everything you would need. The ACCESS card will be given to your child despite your family income. This will cover behavior specialists, speech, OT, psychical therapies. You may not get as much in terms of hours you would like but I feel we are offered more than we can find time to attend when it comes to certain areas. We have some great parent support groups and advocates in the Harrisburg to Chambersburg Areas.
We lived in Chester County, PA, and loved it! Never had to fight for services. All therapies and doctor appointment were free. Check out Theraplay in PA. Didn't like Bucks County though. We're now in NJ and it's just too expensive. Wished we would have stayed in Chester Co, PA. We would love to relocate somewhere warm and affordable, with great autism services in the public schools, but I wonder if that place even exists.
I live in TX. DS gets 15 minutes ST 14 times/9 weeks. 9ot/9weeks. He is in a classroom for children with disability. In this summer he will start his kindergarten at a classroom for children with communication disorders. No chance to be included with NT children. I am thinking of postponing his kindergarten and find a inclusive ABA center.
I am in one of the best ISD in Dallas. I am not so satisfied.
