Good idea! There are other retirement locations that are closer to a major airport than Springfield, but this doesn't really matter to us much. Frank and I will probably use these airports instead of the little Springfield airport. Since we don't intend to travel often by air, driving for a little under 3 hours each way to and from the airport won't make much difference for us.

Talking Branson Regional Airport!

Nola, by the time you've moved here, you should have another choice of airport...

Branson Airport

We are supposed to be hearing soon which carriers are coming into Branson, and they are committed to having some smokin' deals on air fares.

That will be great!! Not that we travel much, but it's good to see our future home town area growing and thriving even more.

I'm new to this...but have you ever looked around the Table Rock area. Shell Knob is a great retirement area.

It probably is... are you retired there? For us, it may be a little smaller in population than we had been hoping for. We feel more comfortable in a town with a population of around 50,000-200,000, about the size of Springfield, whereas I think Shell Knob has a population more like about 1,000. We are not looking for rural/country life but more for life in a small town (or, as somebody described Springfield, a big small town). Or at least that is what we think so far! Thanks, though. I'll definitely look into it.
