We are still considering this area for our relocation. I have concerns about the 'culture' in the city and whether we'll be disappointed. We live about an hour outside of Nashville currently and Nashville is replete with great old bookstores, fantastic music shops, and music venues. There are also great vintage and retro reproduction clothing stores, and a decent hot rod scene-things close to my heart.

We are worried since Vegas is the closest metropolitan area and it's a bit farther from there than Nashville is to us now, though we are in an extremely rural area currently.

St. George does have some culture, though I would imagine nothing close to what you are used to. There is Tuacahn, St. George Musical Theater, lots of little musical things. THey have a car show type ride thing....not really sure what it is but I know that I see lots of old cars on the road sometimes. St. George does pretty well for itself and is getting more and more all the time. Vegas is about an hour and a half away so it's not far if you want to go. Its' a pretty quick trip. Also, Cedar City is about 45 minutes away and they have lots of festivals and stuff like that....they are home to the Utah Shakespearean Festival if you like theater.

You wont find what you have in Nashville, since it is still a rather small town compared to Nashville. You really only have one choice and that is to go to Vegas if you really want to do anything. Once youve seen the sights in the area there is really not alot to do unless your into physical events such as senior olympics and stuff like that.

what about live music? Are there any venues in St. George...little holes in the wall that bring in good music?

The Electric Theatre, & Neverland. Then there's this little cafe called Jazzy Java that I believe has shows every now and then
