I have a son (23) with Down Syndrome. He is currently living in the St. George area. The program he is in is likely to end in the next six months or so and he would like to continue to live in the area. He is, for those who are familiar with the developental language, "high functioning" i.e., he can read, write, take a bus, work, go to the gym, cook to a certain extent, and so on. Thus, I am looking for an organization or program that would continue to assist him, but that would not be paternalistic about it as some of the "helping" organizations can be. Does anyone know of group homes and/or employment assistance organizations in the St. George/Washington area. Thanks.
