Can anyone give me an estimate of the commute time from South City, around South Hampton or Tower Grove to Hazelwood area during rush hour times?

Google maps gives an approximate commute time during rush hour of 40 minutes from Hazelwood to South Hampton. It is a Friday afternoon at 5pm though, so maybe this is not typical for the rest of the week.

Is it similiar to that in the morning?

I appreciate any input. Thanks.

I would say that 40-45 minutes during rush hour is fairly typical for that commute. 170 has a habit of going fairly slowly, as does the section of I-64 from the city to 170. For the most part, I'd say it was similar in the morning.

My husband goes from Florissant into the city every day, and although Florissant is a bit further, he says the traffic during rush hour generally adds about 15-20 minutes to the commute.

What time does Rush Hour in the morning? 7-9 or so?

What about in the afternoon? 4-6?

Thanks for your response.

I'd say more like 6:30-8:30 am. 4-6 pm. Varies of course depending on where you are.

I think our rush hour is fairly short, but the majority of residents in St. Louis actually live in the County and work towards the city, as opposed to living in the city and working in the county. As a result, City dwellers benefit from a "reverse" commute, in that traffic is typically going in the opposite direction to your direction of travel. I have seen a bit of traffic on I-70 nearing downtown, which seems to stack up daily now for your commute home, but going to work shouldn't be much of an issue. As an FYI, I can make my morning commute (it's very early 6am at latest) from St. Ann (Airport) to Downtown in 25 minutes.
