Does anybody else think that not enough significance is attached and not enough recognition is given to that giant grain elevator off Highway 40/I-64? I feel like it should be some kind of industrial landmark or something. It's just so big! It's hard to miss, given that it is much larger than many surrounding structures in Midtown. So why does it get so little recognition? Let's give that structure a little love, shall we?

In case you aren't sure what I'm talking about, these might jog your memory:

I've spent a lot of time in a city where abandoned grain elevators are a pretty big presence. Not a big fan. Hard to turn them into something else.

It's actually not abandoned though... (not a fan either though, but still...)

I personally love the look of it. Sure, it may not be useful as anything other than a grain elevator, but I love gritty / industrial looking things! ♥

I'm pretty lukewarm on it. It would be cool if they painted it or lit it up at night, but I wouldn't be terribly upset to see it go either. Lord knows this city has wrecked far more interesting buildings.
