My wife and I had an overall enjoyable run this morning at the All-Star 5K Run, but one major screwup was choking the starting chute to two lanes on Northboud 7th Street! What a delay! But it was fun to see Lou Brock (who has aged very well, I thought he would join us for the run) and it was a good turnout. Check out downtown STL, they did a great job of cleaning up and prepping for Tuesday's midsummer classic.

Here is a photo of the winner, nice job buddy!:

My wife and I also ran the race. Yes we had fun but you are correct Marksman84 the starting point was all choked up. Also, they needed more water stations during the run. To my count they only had 2 (one at the very begining of the race, why it was there makes no sence to me) and another water/gatorade station at about the half mile mark. During the Race for the cure thier are at least 4 or 5 water stations.

Oh, this was a fun run in our books, so the wife and I didn't go hardcore or competitive. Our time was around 24:30, slow for us. Plus, as Ridgeville concurred, big crowds = start delays. And yes, you are correct - they could have had a few more hydration areas, as different types of runners have different water needs. RFTC has hydration stations at every kilometer, and the event is always well-organized.
This was still a win-win for all involved - a good turnout by some active folks looking to get moving, and a decent amount of money raised for charity.
