Are there any good comfortable apartment complexes closer to the city? Right now I live in the burbs. I'm looking to move closer to the city, but I want to live in a complex and not a building. I'm looking for a nice neighborhood.

I'm sure there are some, but i don't know of any. I've seen some section 8 stuff that looks more like complexes than buildings, but most city apartments seem to be housed in buildings and not large complexes such as you see in the burbs, unless i misunderstand your idea of an apartment complex.

Yeah that's what I mean by an apartment complex. Definitely don't want a section 8 area. Are there any good apartments in nice neighborhoods? (I saw that thread about about nice/favorite neighborhoods in STL)

I've been in this city for about 7 months and still don't know much about it.

I don't think I really understand the difference between an apartment building and an apartment complex. Is it like a subdivision in the suburbs with an association that puts on events, except all rental?

I kind of feel like this is a stupid question...but to me "building" and "complex" seem interchangable.

You should check in University City. That's close to the city, and they have some apartment complexes.

sounds like Brentwood Forest is what you're looking for. Tons of young people and a very crowded pool in the summer with some great scenery.

I would look at apartments in Richmond Heights, Brentwood and University City.
