Why are there two "racism in St Charles" threads? Is it really such a huge topic to warrant two separate threads?
This one should be merged with "Racism in St. Charles area?", which was begun in 2008.

Yes, there is a substantial amount of racism in St. Charles. Don't let anyone tell you differently. You'll encounter less racism inside 270, but unfortunately it's pretty widespread throughout the St. Louis area.

I'm always amazed at how few Hispanics there are in this region. I think a lot of people around here, because of that lack of exposure, still think that all Hispanics are illegal aliens from Mexico, and do not realize that most Hispanics speak no Spanish and come from families that have been in the country for four or more generations.

Most Hispanics in America come from families that have been in this country for four or more generations? Sorry, but that's not even a little bit accurate.

Even in CA i would say that most of the hispanic population is a about 3rd generation.

Hispanic is also a very broad term.
a lot of people forget that people like Rachel Welch, Linda Ronstadt, Joan Baez, Christina Aguilera, Charlie Sheen and Carmen Diaz are hispanic.
