I have a fracture in the femur head and I want it to heal and not need surgery or replacement
What are the best supplements for me to help the healing and bone building process.
I seem to have one good day without pain and one day with pain. It's every other day
Is that normal ?
I just found out about the fracture 3 weeks ago
I have crutches that I was told to use when I have pain and when I do not I need not use crutches
I am taking calcium supplements and vitamin d. Trying to eat as much protein and calcium rich foods that I can

Help. Tell me if I am doing what I need to be to create quicker healing

So many neglect the magnesium factor and bones. So many take far too much calcium and ignore magnesium which is critical for bones and so much more. Personally I take much more mag vs calcium daily.

Healing fractures takes time but it does happen.

Also you might want to do a search: Strontium and bone fractures.

I take strontium every other day.

Do a search like: Supplements for healing fractures

I've heard that calcium in pill form gets absorbed into the blood stream and mostly leads to calcification of arteries with little benefit to your bones. I recall first hearing the medical opinion in the 90's on Dr. Gabe Merkin's show.

Thinking twice about calcium supplements

More recent opinion is that calcium has to be combined with vitamin K2 to be well absorbed into the bones.

It can get pretty crazy to understand it all and what is needed for bone health, so many products, so many opinions and I swear every doctor has something different to say.

One our integrative MD's here in our town lectures on holistic health and he talked about the need for K2 needed for D3 absorption..since then I take K2 with my D3, not every day but a few times a week at least.

So much of that calcium ends up in breast calcifications too...

A friend's doctor told her to use tums for calcium and the friend ended up with deposits on her thyroid and then had a lot of her thyroid removed....plain scarey to listen to many of the doctors.

Once again spreading false propaganda

"so much of that calcium ends up in breast calcification too..." How about NONE of that calcium ends up in the breast

Oral calcium DOES NOT LEAD TO BREAST CALCIFICATIONS

TUMs DO NOT CAUSE THYROID CALCIFICATIONS

The reason thyroid calcifications lead to thyroidectomy is due to the association with thyroid CANCER

If you're drinking soda with phosphoric acid in it, stop drinking it until your bone is healed. (and ideally, don't ever start drinking it again)

Just got this personal story from a good friend on Strontium...love these positive stories.

((1: A few years ago I was in danger of losing an important ‘eye’ tooth in my mouth. My dentist said I could NOT afford to lose it. (It was getting ‘loose’). Dr. Ryan said to take strontium nightly, which I started doing. (Btw, I’ve read recently one should take S. apart from calcium—not at the same time). The tooth tightened up and has stayed tight.

2: Last time I saw Dr. Ryan she told me the story of her recent bone density test results. It was terrific. She asked her doc if he’d ever seen such good results from women her age. He said “No”. She told him it was because she takes strontium.))
