I don't know why I bother reading the paper when I can just come here and see all of the stories re-posted.

Basically...... Seriously though, when posting these articles, I think about people that may not read the paper/syracuse.com and may want information about what is going on in the area in regards to certain topics. Sometimes they are from other print/online media too.

The links all sway to one side. Maybe this will also help people.

Syracuse revealed as 23rd poorest city in the US by census (database) | syracuse.com
Cue the song and dance about how Syracuse is only on the list because there are so many college students.... It isn't college students that are eating at the food pantry, sleeping in the shelters, being charged with welfare fraud....

I've mentioned those things as well and never said that college students were the only reason for the poverty rate. So, no, not all of the posts swing only one way. Feel better now? Look back about a couple of pages and luckily, the poverty rate has gone down some. Ironically, if you look up welfare fraud, many actually live in the suburbs that commit such fraud.

As for the second article, Home HQ's also has helped to rehab homes in the area and tearing down those homes could hopefully help put that land to good use.

While I know that the event is in Binghamton, it is nice to see a local person make it to such a high level: Available Articles | NASA astronaut to speak at Binghamton University Sept. 29

Who are some other people that come to mind?
