Ivy Ridge apartments look like a good deal (on the Skylight link). I may give them a call tomorrow. Regarding neighborhood/community, I just don't want something too obnoxious -- people walking around or kids playing outside is fine...I just don't like loud parties.

Ivy Ridge will have students, but many are International students. If you can, check out the area to see if you would be fine with it.
I really like the Tipp Hill one. Unfortunately I'm still waiting to hear back about this job, so I can't call and reserve an apartment when I don't know if I'll need it for sure. When I do hear back, I'm hoping some of these are still available if I'll need one.

What's nice about the Tipp Hill one is that you can walk to some shopping, restaurants, a gym or if you are into it, a few pubs. It isn't too from the zoo and is on a bus line too. So, you can take the bus to Downtown or to shopping in Fairmount/Camillus, if you want to.
I used to live in Nob Hill Apartments...it's made up of 4 buildings, and students typically inhabit 3 of them, and building 4 is mostly senior citizens who are in bed by 8-9. It's super quiet, there is a recurring $50 discount on your rent if you pay on time, and it's a very safe neighborhood with two convenience stores nearby.
There is also a bus system that is free if youre going to the University.
