I will say that there is an empty golf course off of Molloy Road in DeWitt that would already be set for a project like this. It also has access to Thompson Road near the Thruway, 690 and even 481 via Route 298 aren’t that far away either. It is also close to Hancock International Airport.
However, this hasn’t come to fruition yet and even if it does, there is still plenty of room. More about the former Brooklawn Golf Course: https://goo.gl/maps/UrUZs5XhcjsgTAS66
Correction in terms of the bolded part, I actually just went by the area and that project is actually up and running. It is a nice new facility, but there is still plenty of land on the former golf course that could be used for another facility, if not multiple facilities.
From that article: "Feldmeier employs 126 people in DeWitt, a number Clark said will rise to between 200 and 250 within five years as sales grow. He said the company is looking to hire engineers, fabricators, welders and general laborers."
From the article: “Lockheed Martin officials in Salina had no immediate comment Monday when asked if the contract will lead to new jobs at the Electronics Park campus. The company employs about 1,700 people in Salina and is hiring to fill more than 100 job openings. https://www.lockheedmartinjobs.com/l...67-5124925/4/5
The new jobs are for entry-level and experienced professionals in systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, integration and testing, and manufacturing.
About 53% of the work on the sonar contract will performed at the Salina plant, according to the contract. Additional work will be completed in Millersville, Md. (44%) and Marion, Mass. (1%), Cleveland (1%) and Albuquerque (1%).”
