Look in the town of Salina, but you may be able to find something in some other towns. Taxes will probably be closer to the higher end for taxes, but home prices are going to be lower than what you're use to Downstate.

Something like this could work: Cicero Real Estate - 114 Clarton St, Cicero, NY, 13212

Those taxes are without STAR and would be close to 3k.

Or this: Onondaga Real Estate - 4075 Onondaga Blvd, Onondaga, NY, 13031

Taxes with STAR are around 2700-2800. Both are in good school districts too.

Another one: Manlius Real Estate - 103 THOMPSON ST, Manlius, NY, 13066

Taxes are around 2600 with STAR and its in arguably the "best" school district in the area, if not Upstate NY. Issue would be lot size, but you could walk to things due to being in the village though.

Many of the listings here could work: RealtyUSA - Property - Property-List

Here are a couple in particular: Dewitt Real Estate - 27 Pickwick Rd, Dewitt, NY, 13214

Onondaga Real Estate - 109 Hilgert Dr, Onondaga, NY, 13219

Both are in very good school districts, but are a little off in the criteria.

DeWitt, Jamesville, and some parts of Fayetteville are your best bet if you're looking at syracuse. The assessed value of the home is a HUGE determining factor of how much tax you pay. Clay, Cicero, and some areas of liverpool are also safe places too(not sure about the taxes though).
