Strathmore definitely has higher crime. Sedgwick is very stable with a mix of established families, young married professionals and retirees.
Appreciate the feedback !
Upstate NY is the most under rated area in the USA in my opinion. I have visited 45 states (only Hawaii, Alaska, Dakotas, and Minnesota), and Syracuse is a gem. There is just enough to do to keep busy (the university, good casino, great mall, four seasons).
Love it. You are all very blessed to live. I will be there soon !

I think the fringe areas of the neighborhood does and aren't the old money parts like those west and south of Onondaga Park, which has the same type of people as those you described for Sedgwick.
Mr. Joey A, Scottholm is in that area and as mentioned, it is very similar to the other 2 areas. Meadowbrook is a nice, solidly to even upper middle class area on the city's East Side.
Another area you may like that I think is underrated is the Shotwell Park area of Eastwood. It is a solidly middle class area just SE of Sedgwick.
Another nice area that you may like in Eastwood is the area just east of Midler/south of James/north of say Caleb and to the city line to the east. There is a name for that area, but it is slipping my mind. It is a well kept area, that you would overlook if you aren't familiar with it. Actually that whole area in between James and Caleb is generally alright to very nice.
Even the Valley south of Seneca Turnpike is a nice/solid area with streets with homes that have an old money look. Same with parts of the Court-Woodlawn area north of Grant Boulevard on the North Side and even Tipperary Hill(as well as even the West End)on the West Side. Winkworth is a nice outer SW neighborhood that has a more standard suburban feel that blends in with the part of the area in the town of Onondaga/Westhill SD.
Contrary to what you may get on forums or even on here, there still quite a few areas of the city that could or would be perfectly fine, especially in your situation. You just have to be careful of people generalizing a whole side of town, as each are almost like small cities within a city in terms of the type of neighborhoods and it may be a matter of degree in terms of size/degree.

Thanks again...what you are your thoughts on the nicer condos Downtown?

Which ones are you referring to? All appear to be of good quality, but it may depend on your budget and the location. Franklin Square just NW of Downtown also has condos and that puts you close to Destiny USA, as well as the Regional Market and NBT Bank Stadium. Same for restaurants/businesses on North Salina Street/Little Italy.

Thanks ckhtankgod and all !
Numbers 1 and 4 are actually in Franklin Square. Numbers 2 and 3 are in Armory Square. Number 5 is just SW of Downtown and is in an area that is so so/near Rescue Mission, but may be a matter comfortability, the condos there are pretty new and seems to still attract a similar set of folks as the others. Given your initial posts, I'd concentrate on the other 4 places.

Well, given that you want something quiet, I'd go with Franklin Square. There are actually a few restaurants/cafes and a park in the immediate area. It is very close to Downtown and Destiny USA as well. So, it has some things, with more close by. Some info: http://www.syracuse.ny.us/Parks/franklinSquarePark.html

There are also companies and a post office in Franklin Square as well.
Thank so much for your feedback !
What are your thoughts on North Syracuse or Clay, NY? I see a lot of value up there.
