So two other points to be made. I’m looking for a school that is interested/able to support a child’s learning that is 1-2 years above grade level and that has strong socio-emotional support. (Seek support for needs, not punishment). Of the names you just gave me (plus Ed Smith), are there better choices than others?
Also my 4th grader in 2022-23 will have a brother in 7th who has high functioning autism (but very bright), so I need a district that is supportive and deals with bullying effectively (as he’s high risk for that).
^Ok…Now there is something to work with. Given the autism aspect, I would look into East Syracuse-Minoa, which is known for its good special education services, while being a well regarded school district. I’d say to look in/around the village of East Syracuse(inc. areas north of its like Franklin Park/Parkwood/Park Hill, the area north of James Street through Kirkville Road). That area I believe is the zone for East Syracuse Elementary and ranges from blue collar/working class(especially in parts of the village) to solidly middle class(much of Franklin Park’s SFH portion). There are apartments and condos in that area too.
The area of DeWitt that is just east of Lyncourt in the town of Salina/north of Eastwood is also in that zone and has some rentals as well. You may find some rental homes too.

I called the Syracuse City School District and had a few conversations about my kids. They thought Ed Smith (among 2-3 other names) might be a good fit. We were focusing on K-8 schools.
The Lemoyne Montessori school you mentioned was my first choice but they don't accept transfers into the Montessori school. you have to start as a 4-year old. (I guess only part of the school is Montessori currently). I was really bummed about that as the other Montessori option is the private school which is too much $$$.

Thanks.
Did they mention the Latin School? I would think that would be another school that would come up.
I'm curious as to what were the other schools mentioned? I have a couple in mind, but I'm not completely sure.
