It could be gold plated for $20 less and I still wouldn't buy a Hyundai.
They have zero track record in the tablet market.
Will they update the tablet?
How is support?
No one knows....
A lot of cheaper Android tablets don't have Google Play installed on them.
The prices for quality tablets are gradually decreasing, but I generally think most quality 7" tablets cost at least $150 and most quality 10" tablets cost at least $250.

Agreed.
But I have a Google Nexus 7 and I KNOW it does not have a microSD slot.
Hyundai should have the resources to support the device and there are lots of no name tablets out there which should not have nearly the resources. So that not knowing applies to A LOT of tablets.
Which is why I always recommend BRAND NAME tablets. Samsung, Asus, Sony, iPad, Kindle & Nook.
Hyundai is not a brand name in the tablet market, I don't care how nice the cars are.

And the tablet market is changing so fast there is no telling what will happen. Hyundai is bigger than Asus. Tablets will soon be a generic commodity. As far as using them for educational tools more power won't matter. It will all ba about what you load on them. But the T7s has the same resolution as my Nexus 7 but also has a microSD slot. I have yet to see an Acer or Asus match the specs. The Google devices do not have microSD slots which I consider unacceptable for the long term. LOL
The T7 doesn't beat my TFT300 or the TF700 from Asus.
The Tegra Processor, optimized for battery life with the Tegra 4 + 1 processors handily smokes the Exynos Quad Core.
But I just read Hyundai has released the Jelly Bean update in Beta for the T7. That's the kind of thing they need to do to impress people.
It probably costs more that $40 to repair a broken iPad. So if 10 Akaashes can be purchased for the cost of one iPad then it could make a lot of sense. And the Akaash has a microSD slot. Content can be loaded on the cards and students can store their work on the cards. It can then be switched between devices as necessary.
Content will be more important than the device.
