I use to have a Kindle Keyboard and i read on it, did basic internet on it, played games.

My 8yr old has a kids tablet and she can play games, get online (with supervision), read, everything a basic laptop could do.

A friend of mine just gave me a tablet that he purchased less than a year ago that he wasn't using (since he has an ipad and is also planning on getting the Nexus 6 phablet). So far I have watched TV programs that I have missed as it has excellent resolution and I am planning on using it to read ebooks from library. I have also used it to read email but I prefer to type my answers on a computer with a real keyboard!

There are some really nice Bluetooth keyboards you could get for it that are available in the smaller sizes all they way up to a traditional sized keyboard. This way it's similar to using a laptop. I still prefer my laptop though.

I use my tablet.
  • As a reading device for my phone. I'd rather operate the phone from the table because it is a larger format.
  • As a way for the passengers to access my cell phone while I am driving. They can look up restaurants and motels while I keep driving. If we agree on a spot, they can press the button to call out through my phone to make reservations - again, while I keep driving.
  • In my bedroom when watching TV away from either my desktop or notebook computers to access the internet.
  • When using the "bathroom" or tub to watch streaming media or again, the internet.

I mainly use my tablet for playing games, and for watching videos or browsing the internet from while I"m not in my room or when I don't feel like using my computer.

Whew! Nice to know I'm not the only one who uses their iPad in this way.
