Reviving an old thread? The OP has probably danced so much salsa by now, that he changed to something slower.....

San Diego is only for the rich. For the middle class, I think the Tampa Bay Area is the best bang for your buck.

i second that,
i'm from SD and still here, love everything about its nature, not its super over-rated economy and expenses. you have to be super rich to afford its heavy taxes, expenses, rents and its day to day living. If you work for someone its much better than owning a small business in SD. there is no support for small business from the county to the state, nevertheless its locals. The only day they give you business is the day you marked down everything 80%off because you're going out of business the next day.

I lived in San Diego and love it there so won't say anything negative about that at all. The cost of living is THRU THE ROOF! That 200,000 home here is 500,000 there, property taxes are close to 3X what we have here, sales tax is in double digits, and state income taxes are high. In a sense, you pay for all the good things San Diego has to offer.

You have to make much more money in San Diego to live than you do here. Yes, wages are higher out there but at the end of the day it is what you have left after the monthly bills.

I heard that the largest concentration of Puerto Ricans is in the Orlando area, but that is hearsay, I don't know what the actual statistics are.
