Hi- moving to the area late June/early July. We have the opportunity to rent a furnished condo on Honeymoon Island, and are curious to hear your thoughts? It seems like a beautiful, secluded area. Anyone want to chime in? Thanks for your responses!

Not knowing exactly where the condo is, if it's way out just on the edge of the park, then yes, it would be beautiful, but isolated. You have to drive to go anywhere unless you're a good cyclist. On the other hand, you can cycle into the park whenever you want, so it's a tradeoff. At the height of the tourist season, getting in and out of the parking lot might be a challenge, with cars lined up to get into the park.

There are condos along the causeway closer to Alt-19 that aren't as isolated, with a few restaurants and stores around.

In both cases, you will be car-dependent, but then perhaps you don't care about that.

Hi Wwanderer, thanks for your response. Not sure exactly where on the property the condo is located. We don't mind isolated, as we've been told it's a short drive over the causeway to all the conveniences. Thanks again for responding!

Well if you have the address, you should be able to see it on Google Maps.

In fact, if you look at Honeymoon Island State Park on google maps, you will see a small group of streets that look like they are inside the park. Names like Elgin Pl, Forbes Pl, Dunoon Pl. All just off Causeway Blvd. Then there are condos at the other end of Causeway Blvd., near Hwy Alt. 19. And yes, it really is just a short drive to stores, and a very pretty drive at that.

Yes, this street seems like it is just at the end of the causeway. 55+ community. I guess we would have to know when to leave to get groceries, etc, to beat any state park traffic! Seems like a beautiful area and we can't wait to live there. We're moving from Massachusetts and waving good bye to snowy winters will be a pleasure!

you will enjoy it out there. I live a little closer to Bayshore than you do and I prefer this location because I can walk to some restaurants and stuff like that.

The traffic, as wanderer said, can get backed up in front of your place in tourist season though but I'm sure people will let you through.

Just needs lots of patience while driving here.
