What, no celebratory posts for the Rays officially eliminating NY?? which I believe is only the second time in 19 years NY has been out of contention.

Longoria homers twice, Rays trounce Yankees again | Tampa Bay Times

I'm marking Oct. 2nd in my calendar to watch the Rays in the Wild Card playoffs (which, btw, is a bizarre set up if there's a 3-way tie)

I reminded a NYY fan while on the tennis courts today......Rays have magic number at 3. No guarantees to playoffs until the number gets to zero. Too many issues w/ pitching.

Got this from the Rays: why don't I feel so fortunate (congratulations)?

Congratulations, you have been selected for the opportunity to purchase tickets to the Wild Card game potentially to be held at Tropicana Field. This presale begins on Friday, September 27, at 10 a.m. ET and ends at 12:59 p.m. ET.

If you do not purchase tickets by Friday at 12:59 p.m. ET you will have forfeited this presale opportunity. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 27 at 1 p.m. ET.

On Friday morning, September 27, 2013, you will receive an e-mail with the offer code you can use to purchase up to six (6) tickets to the potential Wild Card game to be held at Tropicana Field before the general public. THIS PRESALE EVENT IS ONLINE ONLY AND IS BASED ON AVAILABILITY.

I have no idea - except he uses a lot of computer data to make up his line up. He always has. Most of the talking heads in TB have concluded that wild card was a sure thing. I've had my doubts - anyone that has followed the team knows that they can get ice cold as fast as they got hot. You can't count on anything with this squad.

Chas, I can't even reply to you. It just must be so difficult being miserable that you can't help but share it almost daily to people that you don't even know.

It makes me so frustrated to see people come in here and jump up and down at bad news.

WHERE WERE ALL YOU DURING THE LAST WEEK WERE WE WON EVERY GAME????? EVERY GAME!!!!

The Rays have been PLAYING LIGHTS OUT to get into the position they are in. The loss today was hard. HUGE GAME TOMORROW and Moore is pitching.

So surprised that Cleveland and Texas have been winning EVERY GAME just to remain in the hunt or even.

Will be tough if we can't hold on at least for a play in game. But I am sure it will make some of these people here that don't even go to a game, happy. UNREAL
