As today is the first official day of hurricane season, here's hoping we have some tropical activity......but no deaths and as little damage as possible. Having the bigger storms off the coast, where we can watch them from land, would be nice.

Please plan ahead and be safe.

started my flood insurance...but won't be effective until later in the month - hopefully won't need it.

We're getting a nice shower here, but I know it's not nearly enough. I am eager to see some real sustained rain.

I moved down here the week after Sandy hit. It actually made my last week in PA quite difficult so, do not misunderstand - I am not eager to see severe storms or hurricanes. Just some good solid rain...

I get $75,000 worth of coverage for $275 for my place. I figure I'll cover the rest out of my pocket if it should happen. Not in a flood zone, but I'm about 30 feet from a huge man made lake. There's a berm between it an my place, but you never know what kind of problems that lake could cause if a hurricane hits directly.
