I was wondering why Tampa Bay area is a better place to live than Orlando?
We are closer to the beaches, we have less tourists (who drive me crazy on I-4 near Orlando and their parks), we have very nice airport (Orlando airport never impressed me as much as Tamps airport)... Anything else to add?

Think of most things people dont like about Tampa such as Traffic,Sprawl, crappy drivers there are far worse in Orlando.

Your reasons were exactly what I was going to post (besides the airport, never been to Orlando's).

I would add it's a bit cooler as far as temp goes.

Can't say for sure, but there seems to be a heck of a lot of violent crime coming out of Orlando.

I appreciate that we have three major league sports versus their single team.

I would agree...plus being around all the tourists-ALL the time...and seeing mouse ears everywhere...it would drive me batty. I love going there for a weekend but that's about it.

I prefer Gulf Coast beaches over Atlantic coast side as well.

I get over to Orlando often for work. I don't like anything about the area. It's like being up north in some ways.

I don't think it's any better than Orlando, about the same.

Ditto. This area is WAY better. Not even close.

Seems to me that Orlando is more racially diverse than Tampa - the couple of times I've been there it seemed that Orlando had more of a Miami feel to it - more Hispanic population from what I saw.

Also good shopping compared to Tampa - good golf courses as well.

I never did like the I-4 traffic, especially near the downtown area -

There are some beautiful communities in the Orlando area, that's for sure.
