It's really not the traffic as much as it is the bad drivers. There are some areas that bottleneck, but overall the traffic is not that bad.

I don't think the volume of traffic is bad - the problem is the inadequate and poorly planned freeways and road systems. Lack of foresight and corruption has made traffic far worse than it should be. The road construction underway is the slowest I have ever seen anywhere - it boggles the mind.
I-10 out in Arizona west of Phoenix went from 2 lanes in each direction to 4 to 6 - IN ONE YEAR. Here that project would have taken 10 years.

I am in for it! I am always for alternatives and actually prefer to have a fast lane available for times I need. The price for usage is not set and depends on demand at any specific segment at specific time - if too many cars enter, they increase the price to the point to keep traffic moving fast. I don't see a problem with this alternative really.

You're OK with tolling a road forever even if the bond is paid off in 15 years? Why?

In NYC years ago they said they would have tolls until the bridges were paid off. Those bridges have been paid a 1000x over and guess what? There is still a toll. A greedy politician taking your money is not easily parted. That's one of the reasons I moved from NY. Every time you turn around a politician has their hands in your pocket. Then you drive down the road and watch people drinking their 40's laughing at you for going to work!!!

Usually when fees are implemented they will stay and increase. Who doesn't love to receive fees!

It is different for the ones paying it unless you receive something back that feels worth it, which is not often the case.

When I lived in Brooklyn NY, I drove over the Verrazano Bridge the first day it opened in 1964. The toll was 50 cents round trip. We were told the toll would be gone when the bonds were paid. [51 years ago]
Been over that bridge lately? It cost $13 of which a portion goes to the MTA to subsidize low cost subway rides.
Tolls never go away and always increase.
