You Obviously know very little about Scientology. I suggest you study up on it before you defend it.

It would be fine with me if Scientology moved bag and baggage to Timbuktu.

They are as legit as any other religious "organization", IMO. At least they contribute to DT Clearwater. I do not think they should be tax exempt, but I have that same opinion of any other religious "organization".

Honestly a close friend of mine told me that people
don't realize how much Scientology does for Clearwater...
Although he's based out of L.A.
He said that basically every business in Clearwater is owned by Scientologists....
I must admit I'm curious-
they can't be all that bad

They've renovated a lot of buildings (like the Fort Harrison Hotel) but those buildings are not open to the general public to my knowledge.

They have never done any harm to anyone I know and if they want to spend money here, creating and helping to sustain businesses, more power to them. Better than boarded up buildings.

Clearwater FL is a Scientology town. I was there when there was a Scientology convention going on. Asked a man for directions and you could see that behind his eyes, he was processing and monitoring the interaction, if he was thinking correctly. All we were asking is if we were going in the right direction. While I applaud the intent to change your automatic bad reactions, he really shouldn't have stressed that much on it. Won't do that again.
